Deana Lesher is the founder and owner of Pediatric Connections. A proud graduate of the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy, Deana brings over 30 years of clinical experience to her practice. Her extensive background includes 10 years within the public school system, giving her a deep understanding of the unique challenges children face in educational environments.
As a specialist in reflex integration and sensory/motor interventions, Deana focuses on brainstem development as a foundation for trauma recovery. She is a Core Specialist in the MNRI Method and holds certifications in CranioSacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) and the Safe and Sound Protocol. Deana is dedicated to helping children and families move from patterns of survival into healthy connection, creating the safety in the body necessary for lasting cognitive and emotional growth.
She was honored to be the recipient of the 2019 KOTA Occupational Therapist of the Year Award. When she isn’t in the clinic, Deana enjoys adding to her collection of unique mugs, each with its own story—just like the families she serves.
You may also find her playing with her 3 grandchildren in one of the sensory gyms at the clinic!
What is the best advice you can give your clients?– My favorite quote is by Ralph Waldo Emerson, ”What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” God gave us an incredible spirit not only to survive, but to thrive. If you find yourself living in a predominant state of survival, there is hope. Keep persevering and let your light shine!
Favorite scripture verse and theme verse for Pediatric Connections– “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
